Hi, I’m Michelle.
I’m just a girl with an old soul and a passion for helping others.
From the time I was very young, I was always a helper. When my baby brother was born, I treated him like my own. I’d follow around my twin brother and tell him what to do (mostly “be careful!”). I would babysit the neighbors and clean their house while I was there. I’d organize my mom’s friend’s houses and redecorate my room (and even paint my parent’s bathroom when they went out of town). I’ve just always been a doer and caretaker. It’s what I know and what I love.
When I started college, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. My heart was pulling me towards a career in art, like interior design, but my mind was pulling me to something more “practical,” like Business. The head won that battle and I got my business degree.
I started working for a very large Aerospace company just after graduation. It wasn’t long until my heart started pulling me towards art so I decided to start a side business doing hair and makeup for weddings. Having a heady, thinking job during the day and a fun, artistic job on the weekends was just the balance I needed. However, after having two kids and becoming a single mother, I couldn’t keep up with two jobs on top of toddlers. I ended up closing my business and eventually, quit my full-time, stable income job. As much as I loved my coworkers, it just didn’t feel right. I felt out of alignment.
I left aerospace and became a real estate broker. I loved working with people and I loved houses, so I thought it would be a great fit! After about 9 months on the job, I realized I had a special skill set when it came to matters of the home; I had years of corporate project management experience and an eye for design, coupled with a knack for figuring out how things work. It was then that I decided to start my own general contracting company.
I was a GC for 5 years before the pandemic forced me to close. I stayed in construction, working for another company, but started to lose my love for it. I felt like I had a bigger calling than just managing remodels. Again, I started another side gig, Souly Inspired Living. At the time, SIL was just a home decor/organization/consulting business. It gave me the bit of a creative outlet that I needed. I ended up leaving my job in construction and decided to finish writing a book I’d started the year before. I then decided to start consulting and coaching full-time. I founded The High Value Man Project, specifically targeted towards men to help them increase their self-awareness. Then I revamped Souly Inspired Living to encompass both Lifestyle and Business Consulting.
I don’t regret the years I spent working for someone else; I learned so much and have such incredible experience to draw upon in my own business. But these days, I’m doing what my heart wants. And that makes me Souly Inspired.
My goal here is to Souly Inspire you, too. Life and business have their challenges: ups, downs and everything in between. Sometimes we get lost in the shuffle of everyday life and need some help getting re-aligned. I firmly believe that every aspect of our life needs to be in alignment in order to experience success. Whether that means organizing your clutter, making your space more functional or working with me to better understand your thoughts and patterns, these are all things that, when analyzed holistically, can put you in better alignment and position you for success.
At the end of the day, my purpose in this life is to help people. I help in as many forms as I can, which is why my list of services offered is so expansive. I hope that I can help you, too. Please reach out to me with any questions you may have. You can also find me on Instagram and check out the blog on this website to learn more.
Best,
Michelle
