Some Words About Décor

I first want to start off by saying that décor and design doesn’t have to be expensive. I think when people hear about “interior designers” they assume that it’s going to cost them an arm and a leg to make their house look amazing. They aren’t wrong: Designers have a reputation for being pretentious and their services being a luxury. While it’s true that the Designers to the Stars are insanely expensive to the Average Joe, there are also many designers that offer more affordable packages. While it may seem like a luxury to hire someone to decorate your house, I’m here to tell you that it is worth it. Hiring someone to help you create a space that feels how you want it to feel is worth every penny. Being able to come home at night and relax and feel at peace is worth it’s weight in gold.

While decorating an entire house can be expensive, just with the cost of materials and furniture, it doesn’t always have to be. In my own home, most of my “treasures” have been passed down or given to me, found at the thrift store or rummage sale or things I’ve picked up second-hand on OfferUp. Decor items don’t have to be European or trendy, or carry a hefty price tag. You just have to love it. And for me, I tend to love things all across the pricing spectrum.

I like to think that my style for decorating isn’t prescriptive; I don’t have a magic formula that tells me what colors to put where or what furniture to buy. This process is highly individualized and requires that I get to know you in such a way that I can help you pull what’s buried inside out into your home. I find that most people know what they like and can pin point it in a way that gives me direction to guide you. You are the master of your home, I’m just here to help you discover it!

I look forward to helping you discover what lives inside you and how we can express that in your home!
