This is me, Part II
The evolution of thought and perspective is interesting.
In discussing my goals of this company with my mentor, he reminded me of who I am and why I need to share myself with you all. As an ex-corporate lackey, there’s a part of me that lives in a world of political correctness and “acceptable” behavior. Sadly, that’s not me. At least, not all of the time.
My mentor encouraged me to share my other passions with you to give you an idea of who I really am in this world. I have three Instagram accounts and numerous Facebook pages, each one painting a picture of different aspects of myself to market my product or service. My posts range from anti-online dating rants to sexy selfies to humorous memes that speak to who I am and what I think is funny. I show photos of projects I’ve worked on, places I’ve visited and things I do for fun, but I’ve kept them all in their respective silos. My corporate business side tells me not to mix business with pleasure so I’ve avoided an overlap of these different sides of myself. With Souly Inspired Living, I want to share all of me with you so that you see who I am, in all aspects, in all ways, with no filters of what’s “appropriate” for which business or endeavor.
For the past five years, I have been writing a blog about dating, relationships and whatever else lights me up. I share my heart, my soul, my feelings: all things that are very personal yet paint a picture of who I am, from the inside-out. I swear, cry and type with a fury like my fingers are on fire when I write on my blog. My passion pours from the center of my being, and that’s a piece of me you can’t ignore in getting to know me. I hope that if you’re curious to know more, you take a look: www.carharttsandheels.com.
If there’s one thing I can tell you about myself, it’s that I believe there is nothing I can’t do. From starting businesses in something I know nothing about, to creating a blog to share my life, to evolving into an expert in things I wasn’t educated in, I am fearless. Having this confidence in myself has allowed me to grow into new adventures, and one that rings so crystal clear in my head as something that is needed and necessary is The Offline Movement. The Offline Movement is another one of my pet projects: a social movement to get people to connect in real life, sans the Internet. The idea came to me while I was driving home from yet another failed online date and I ran with it. It’s been on-hold since Covid hit (thanks a lot, social distancing) but I know it’ll resurface and be more powerful than ever. I am proud of the brand that I’ve built around it and those who follow and believe in it. If you’re interested to see another part of me, you can check it out here: www.theofflinemovement.com.
My point in sharing these aspects of myself with you is to get you to see that we’re all multi-faceted, sparkly humans. We have our things: our passions, vices, likes and dislikes. We are complicated and beautiful, filled with endless potential to create. I fancy myself a creator, and you are too. You are the creator of the life you want, and my goal is to help you create a space that fosters that growth. I want to help you unpack yourself to the point where your home reflects all the things about you that make you fabulous.
I can’t wait to be a part of your evolution.
